She was preceded in death by three sisters, Lela Myers, Minnie Pomeroy and Helen Forry; and five brothers, Harold V., Charles Grove Jr., Leslie, John and Jerry Grove.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg. Pastor James Hoffer will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Lawrence Perry, 89

INWOOD, W.Va. - Lawrence Perry, 89, of Inwood, died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, at his home.

Born Dec. 18, 1918, in Freeport, Maine, he was the son of the late Joseph Perry Sr. and Leona Libby Perry.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army.

He was a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth "Betty" Maxfield Perry; one daughter, Jean Burdick of Inwood; two sisters, Helen Aluise of Atlantic City, N.J., and Marjorie Applegate; one brother, Walter Perry of South Portland, Maine; three grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur Perry and Joseph Perry Jr.

A memorial service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Westview Baptist Church. Pastor Johnny Kelly will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery, Portland.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 122 Waverly Court, Martinsburg, WV 25403.

Carol Lindgren-Lease, 71

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Carol Lindgren-Lease, 71, of Martinsburg, died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008, at City Hospital.

Born March 24, 1937, in Fall River, Mass., she was the daughter of the late John and Irene Moniz Terceira.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth Lindgren.

She retired from the IRS after 32 years of service.

She was a member of St. Leo Catholic Church.

She was an associate member of Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 1071.

She is survived by her husband of eight years, John Joseph Lease; four daughters, Lisa Lindgren, Arlene Lindgren and Janine Stotler, all of Martinsburg, and Mary Robinson of Lynchburg, Va., four sons, John Lindgren and Kenneth Lindgren, both of Long Island, N.Y., Steven Lindgren of Martinsburg and George Lindgren of Hagerstown; one stepdaughter, Carol J. Lease of Norristown, Pa.; one brother, John Terceira of Poughquag, N.Y.; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Irene Olson.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Leo Catholic Church. The Rev. Brian Shoda will officiate. Burial will be private.

The family will receive friends today from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.

Orville W. Zullinger, 83

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Orville W. Zullinger, 83, of Chambersburg, died Monday, Sept. 15, 2008, at ManorCare Health Services, where he resided for the past week.

Born April 3, 1925, in Letterkenny Township, Pa., he was the son of the late Warren and Viola Sandoe Zullinger.

He drove a school bus for Chambersburg Area School District for 40 years, retiring in 2005.

He was a member of Orrstown United Brethren Church.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy I. Diehl Zullinger, whom he married Dec. 29, 1944; four children, Richard L. Zullinger and Darlene F. Wenger, both of Chambersburg, Robert L. Zullinger of St. Thomas, Pa., and Rodney D. Zullinger of Millerstown, Pa.; five sisters, Ruth Gayman of Pleasant Hall, Pa., and Mary Newcomer, Bertha Snyder, Janet Wenger and Grace Reed, all of Chambersburg; two brothers, Warren Zullinger of Newburg, Pa., and Raymond Zullinger of Orrstown, Pa.; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Larry E. Zullinger and Orville W. Zullinger Jr; three sisters; and three brothers.

Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Orrstown United Brethren Church. Pastor Milton Herrold Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, and one hour prior to the services Friday at the church.

Caroline (Russell) Palkovitz

Caroline (Russell) Palkovitz, of Hagerstown, died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, at her home.

Born March 6, 1926, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late George Hudson and Madeline Bower Russell.

She was a graduate of Hagerstown High School, class of 1944.

She was employed with New York Central Iron Works from 1944 to 1947 as a secretary, and Western Maryland Railway Co. as a clerk stenographer from 1948 to 1957.
