Family scrapbooking workshop scheduled



CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The Chambersburg YMCA will host a family scrapbooking workshop for parents and their children ages 8 and older. The event is from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sundays, Sept. 21 and 28.

The cost is $25 for one parent and one child if nonmembers; $15 for one parent and one child if Y members. Any additional person, Y member or not, will be charged $5. Support offered for children of divorce



FREDERICK, Md. - Children from Changing Families will meet from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursdays, Sept. 25, through Nov. 13, at Families Plus, 35 E. Church St.

The free, eight-week group is for children in grades one through eight whose parents are divorced or separated. Coordinators Ginger Hart and Tara High will help children learn that they didn't cause the problem, they cannot cure it, but they can learn to cope with changes in their lives.

Teen Band Fest set for next Saturday



Washington County Free Library will hold Teen Band Fest 2008 from 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at the library parking lot, off South Potomac Street.

Everyone is welcome. Bring a chair and listen as local bands take the stage. Parking will be available at St. John's Lutheran Church. Food will be sold.




Chambersburg YMCA hosts sprint triathlon



CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.- Chambersburg YMCA will host a sprint triathlon at 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27.

There will be an indoor 500-meter swim, a rolling hill 16-mile bike route and a flat 5-kilometer run. The event is co-ed and for ages 12 and older.

Fees cost $35 until today and $50 thereafter. Race day registration is not guaranteed.
