MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - The Martinsburg Sylvan Learning Center recently sponsored a school supply drive to benefit families living at the Shenandoah Women's Center in Martinsburg.

Over the first two weeks of August, Sylvan students and members of the community donated school supplies and other needed items for families living at the women's center.

"I'm very proud of our students' efforts to help kids who are not as fortunate as they are," said Beth Shupp-George, center director.

Shupp-George presented the donated items to Anne Marie, service coordinator of the Shenandoah Women's Center on Aug. 21, at the Learning Center.

"We really appreciate Sylan's help in getting our students off to a good start for the new school year," said Anne Marie.

Sylvan provides tutoring services for students from prekindergarten through adults.
