She is survived by her husband, Richard R. Swanger, whom she married July 10, 1964; one daughter, Gina Swanger of Chambersburg; one son, Richard Swanger of Roxbury, Pa.; one sister, Janet Wingert of Chambersburg; four brothers, David Yeager and Jake Yeager, both of Chambersburg, Robert Yeager of Fort Loudon, Pa., and Don Yeager of Shippensburg; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Gayman; and two brothers, Bill Yeager and John Yeager.

Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home in Chambersburg. The Rev. Kevin Witter will officiate. Burial will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to a trust fund for her grandchildren to B. Swanger Memorial, Account No. 5000066725, Patriot Federal Credit Union, 800 Wayne Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201.

Athie F. Frye, 75



JULY 2, 1933-SEPT. 9, 2008

INWOOD, W.Va. - Athie Franklin Frye, 75, of Inwood, died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008, at City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born July 2, 1933, in Gerrardstown, W.Va., he was the son of the late Denny Frye and Ruby Butts Frye.

He retired from commercial construction in the Washington, D.C. area.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Janice Barron Frye; two daughters, Hope Krum of Irving, Texas, and Kathy Titus of Charles Town, W.Va.; three grandchildren; and one niece.

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at South Berkeley Funeral Chapel in Inwood.

Private graveside services will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Roland Downs Ricker, 74, of Hedgesville, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.

He was an educator, retiring from the Washington, D.C., public schools.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Robert W. Davis, 44

FREDERICK, Md. - Robert Wayne Davis, 44, of Frederick, and formerly of Williamsport, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008, at his home.

Born Dec. 25, 1963, in Hagerstown, he was the son of Jean Stewart Davis of Hagerstown and the late Ronald Lee Davis.

He was a 1982 graduate of Williamsport High School and attended Hagerstown Junior College.

He was employed by Fort Detrick in Frederick.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

He was a Methodist.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by one sister, Susie D. Butts of Williamsport; one brother, Stewart L. Davis of Cleveland; nieces; nephews; aunts; uncles; and cousins.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Mary Jane Stewart, 83

KNOXVILLE, Md. - Mary Jane Stewart, 83, of Knoxville, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008, at her home.

Born Aug. 20, 1925, in Brunswick, Md., she was the daughter of the late Guy and Iva Strowbridge Barker.

She was a 1942 graduate of Brunswick High School.

She retired from the Department of the Army in 1980, as a civilian secretary for the Department of Defense.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church.

She was a member of the Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10421 and the Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 96.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Wendell M. Stewart; one daughter, Shirley A. Dunbar of Scottsdale, Ariz.; one brother, Charles W. Barker of Port Orange, Fla.; two granddaughters; nieces; and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Virginia L. Grossman.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at John T. Williams Funeral Home in Brunswick. The Rev. Vicky Starnes will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick, Md.

The family will receive friends today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

A memorial service for Elizabeth Ruth Gouker, 89, of 14406 Greencastle Pike, Hagerstown, who died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008, at Reeders Memorial Home in Boonsboro, will be Sunday at 11:45 a.m. at Broadfording Church of the Brethren Fellowship. The Rev. Len Smith will officiate.

Arrangements are by Osborne Funeral Home in Williamsport.
