World War II Weekend

World War II re-enactors present scenes from the Pacific and European Theaters; also military equipment, weapons and uniforms. Festivities are at the Town Museum in Williamsport and start at 10 a.m. Abbott & Costello tribute at 2 p.m. Veterans honored at 3:30 p.m. USO canteen dinner and big band dance from 6 to 10 p.m. Call Joan Knode at 301-223-7229.

Saxophone quartet

U.S. Air Force Band's sax quartet will perform at 8 tonight at Shepherd University's Frank Arts Center Theater. Performance highlights include Samuel Barber's "Excursions" and Perry Goldstein's "Fault Lines." Call 304-876-5555.

Sharpsburg Heritage Days Festival

Remembrance Parade

Boonsboro's annual Sept. 11 commemoration parade starts at 7 p.m. today along Boonsboro's Main Street. Features firetrucks, ambulances, Rohrersville Band and more.


Hancock Canal Apple Days

Saturday and Sunday. Parade starts at 11 a.m. Saturday at Park-N-Dine Restaurant and goes to park. Live music, craft vendors, baby contest. 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14, Widmeyer Park. Call 301-678-6555.
