The Great Frederick Fair

The Frederick Fair opens 5 p.m. Friday and continues through Saturday, Sept. 20, at the Frederick Fairgrounds. Carnival rides, food, motor sports events and country music shows, including Dierks Bentley, left, Jason Aldean, and Kellie Pickler and Lady Antebellum.

Autumn Arts Festival

About 40 arts and crafts vendors, children's art activities, petting zoo, pony rides, French and Indian War-era encampment, railroad displays and live music. Theatrical and dance performances. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at locations throughout Hagerstown's City Park. Call 301-739-8393.

Battle of Antietam anniversary

Antietam National Battlefield near Sharpsburg is holding several walks, hikes and talks Friday through Sunday in honor of the 146th anniversary of the Battle of Antietam. Save Rocky's Pizza benefit concert

Music includes classic rock by Freak Show and Center Alley. 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14, at the Eagles Club, 18 N. Locust St., downtown Hagerstown. Proceeds will help reopen and relocate Rocky's Pizza to a new downtown Hagerstown location. Doors open at 1 p.m. Go to

Glenville State Pioneers will visit Shepherd for a 1 p.m. matchup Saturday, Sept. 13, as the two perennial West Virginia Conference powerhouses open the conference schedule.
