Salvation Army seeks volunteers to travel south to assist in hurricane recovery

Volunteers are being sought to head south with The Salvation Army of Hagerstown to help people in areas of Louisiana and Texas already hit hard by Hurricane Gustav.

Additional areas in that region could be affected by Hurricane Ike and will also need assistance, said Major Robert Lyle.

Transportation and lodging will be provided by The Salvation Army, he said. Volunteers will be needed through September.
