Police investigating fight in crowd during Frederick-Tuscarora football game

September 09, 2008

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- School officials are trying to determine who was involved in the fight that broke out during a high school football game in Frederick County on Friday.

The fight began during the third quarter of the game between Frederick and Tuscarora high schools, at Tuscarora.

The county sheriff's office says some people in the crowd became unruly and refused orders to stop fighting. Deputies and school officials cleared the stadium to restore order. The game was completed with only essential personnel looking on.

Sheriff's office spokeswoman Cpl. Jennifer Bailey does not expect any arrests. The county school system, however, says students found to be involved would face disciplinary action.
