BLUE RIDGE SUMMIT, Pa. - Blue Ridge Summit Free Library received a funding boost through a sponsorship for its recent ice cream social and book sale held July 19.
PenMar Development Corp. provided $3,000 in support for the fundraising event.
With perfect weather and a large crowd in attendance, the social raised nearly $10,000 for the library.
PMDC chairman and Summit resident, George Griffin, expressed his organization's support for the library,
"One of PMDC's primary functions is to benefit local communities. PMDC, in partnership with Corporate Office Properties Trust, is building a community center at Fort Ritchie. When the center opens in late September, we hope that patrons of the library will become members there as well, to create a long-lasting collaborative relationship, serving all the communities in the two-state, four-county area."
The library is open Monday through Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The library is closed on Fridays and Sundays.
