Brett Hersh, owner of Hersh Business Services and a consultant for Growth Strategies LLC, published an article in the August issue of B2B Outlook Magazine. The article is headlined "Compounding Business Growth with Happy Customers." It argues that a business owner's most powerful resource is his or her limited time and details how effective time management can accelerate business growth.

AgChoice Farm Credit

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. - Bridget Goodman of Chambersburg, Pa., was named AgChoice Farm Credit's loan processing manager. She has worked for AgChoice Farm Credit for more than three years, serving as a customer service specialist and most recently as a loan specialist. In her new position, Goodman will be the liaison between management and AgChoice's support team across 10 branch offices. She will be the technical expert, trainer and advocate for AgChoice's loan processing staff. She also will be a compliance officer and work on other specialized projects.


Before joining AgChoice Farm Credit in 2005, she worked for F&M Trust in its loan department as a processing specialist.

Martinsburg Urology Practice

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Martinsburg Urology and Dr. K. Shane Geib recently announced the addition of Dr. Millie Pevzner, a urologist, to the practice on the City Hospital campus.

Pevzner received her medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine and recently completed her residency in urology at Georgetown University Hospital and Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C.

As a member of the medical staff of WVUH-East's City Hospital, Pevzner and her associates at Martinsburg Urology will be working closely with the WVUH-East Regional Cancer Program to establish a brachytherapy service for prostate cancer treatment.

Plamondon Enterprises Inc.

FREDERICK, Md. - Gwyn Geiman has joined Plamondon Enterprises Inc., operators of the Roy Rogers quick-serve restaurant brand, as the new director of marketing. With more than 20 years of marketing experience, Geiman spent more than 12 years working for Coca-Cola Bottling and Coca-Cola USA, where she became marketing and promotions manager for the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions. In 2000, she moved to Pepsi Bottling Group, where she was the senior field marketing manager for the Mid-Atlantic region until 2007.

Cumberland Valley Infectious Diseases

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa - Dr. Shehzad Parviz, an infectious disease specialist, has joined Dr. Mohammed Ali in practice at Cumberland Valley Infectious Diseases, at 765 Fifth Ave. in Chambersburg. Cumberland Valley Infectious Diseases was formally known as Keystone Medical Associates before joining Summit Health.

Parviz comes to Chambersburg from a position on the medical staff at Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins, W.Va. He had been an internal medicine and infectious disease consultant there since August 2005. During that time, Parviz also served as the medical director of the Primary Care Clinic, Valley Health Care Inc. in Mill Creek, W.Va.

Parviz received his medical degree from The Aga Khan University in Pakistan. He completed his residency training in internal medicine at Chicago Medical School. He has held the position of clinical assistant professor in the department of medicine at West Virginia University and clinical assistant professor, West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine.

Dr. Parviz and Dr. Ali will be seeing patients in both Chambersburg and Waynesboro, Pa. The Waynesboro office will open Sept. 22 at the Waynesboro Medical Complex, 500 E. Main St.

Washington County Department of Social Services

John Kenney, program manager for Adult Services for the Washington County Department of Social Services, was recognized at the National Adult Protective Services Association Conference in Chicago Aug. 26-29.

Kenney received the Spirit of NAPSA Award in honor of Jan Stiles. This national honor is named for an Adult Protective Services leader from Wyoming who was "revered by her staff, always had new ideas, and had an unequaled work ethic."

Kenney began his career with WCDSS in 1972 as a social work associate in Adult Services. In 1992, Kenney was recognized by the Department of Human Resources' Adult Services Program as Supervisor of the Year. He was WCDSS Supervisor of the Year in 2004.

Kenney was nominated by his co-worker for his compassion and positive attitude when it comes to helping vulnerable and disabled clients in the community. He chairs many committees, workgroups and programs in the community. Kenney is a long-term member and past board president of the Washington County Commission on Aging; longtime board member and past board president of the Task Force on Homelessness for Washington County, current chairman of the Social Work Caucus of Washington County; and advisory board member of the Western Maryland Med Bank.

Cochran Auctioneers and Associates

James G. Cochran, CEO/auctioneer and Thomas E. Bikle, director of marketing and real estate of Cochran Auctioneers and Associates, LTD, recently attended the National Auctioneers Conference in Nashville, Tenn. The Cochran firm also received first place in the national association's marketing division for a 12-page, full-color auction brochure that they had produced for the John Bast Estate auction in March. Also attending the annual conference from the Cochran firm were Dennis and Joyce Everett and Jamie and Leslie Cochran.
