Annual home show



Merchants and vendors will be set up in Valley Mall for the annual home show to answer any home improvement questions you may have this Friday to Sunday.




Wellness workshops



Grace United Methodist Church will host two wellness and disease prevention workshops at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 10.

The workshops will be conducted by Dr. Linda Solomon a volunteer with the Foundation for Wellness Professionals, a nonprofit organization that promotes wellness and disease prevention programs.

The first of the two workshops will be "Arthritis: Alternative Approaches to Preventing and Relieving Joint Disease."

The second workshop is "Pressure Point Therapy, Learn How to Relieve Pain Naturally."

The church is recommending a contribution of $10 for this combined workshop. However, those who cannot afford $10 are still invited to attend.




Wii guitar event



Church of the Holy Trinity, United Church of Christ, will host Wii Guitar Hero Night on Friday, Sept. 12. The event will run from 8 to 11 p.m. The church is at 17805 Oak Ridge Drive off Halfway Boulevard.  For more information, call 301-739-0702 or e-mail holytrinity@myactv.net.

Fundraiser



Reaching for the Moon will be held Saturday, Sept. 12, at Milestone Farms in Williamsport from 5 to 8 p.m. 

The event will include a silent auction, food and beverages to raise funds for the fight against breast cancer. The event will be at the home of Jone and Don Bowman in Williamsport. Blue Band



On Saturday, Sept. 13, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., members of the Williamsport High Blue Band will be going door-to-door collecting donations as a part of tag day.

In return for the donations, area residents will receive a hanging tag to display support of the band. Members of the band will be wearing band t-shirts and khakis (the new band uniforms will not be worn until the Martinsburg Tournament of Bands.) Those wanting to make a donation to the Blue Band, but who will not be home on Saturday, can submit donations by mail to: Blue Band Tag Day event, c/o Williamsport High School, 5 S Clifton Drive, Williamsport, MD 21795.
