Appel Tree Inn gets OK for patio

September 04, 2008

The Washington County liquor board on Wednesday gave the owner of the Appel Tree Inn in Hancock permission to build an enclosed patio that will lead outside from the bar.

Larry Kessler, owner of the Appel Tree Inn, told the Board of License Commissioners for Washington County, known as the liquor board, that the patio shouldn't create a noise problem because the nearest residential units are about 100 yards away from his business.

The liquor board suggested to Kessler that he follow the proper procedures to obtain building and zoning permits from the county.
