Tyler McKenrick scored all three goals as unbeaten Hagerstown Community College began Maryland JuCo Conference play with a 3-0 victory over Harford on Tuesday.

Chris Lambert, Mark Connelly and Francesco Scotto di Carlo each had an assist and Harold Little made four saves for the shutout for HCC (3-0, 1-0).


Lung 15th at Green Mountain

WAITSFIELD, Vt. -- Tim Lung, 53, of Hagerstown finished 15th out of 42 in the 50-plus age division at the four-day Green Mountain Stage Race.

Lung, who rides for Antietam Velo Club/Team Hagerstown-Washington County Tourism, had a total time of 7 hours, 19 minutes, 35 seconds for the four stages. Glenn Swan of Freeville, N.Y., was the champion in 7:12:49.

Rams' Sutch gets D-II honor

PRINCETON, W.Va. -- Shepherd University sophomore running back Jimmy Sutch, a St. James graduate, has been honored by as the Division II Offensive Player of the Week following his performance in the Rams' 20-16 win over Shippensburg.

The Hagerstown native rushed for 201 yards and two touchdowns in his first collegiate start. Sutch scored on runs of 78 and 7 yards and also was named WVIAC Offensive Player of the Week.

Shepherd is ranked 13th in the American Football Coaches Association Division II Coaches' Poll for Sept. 2.
