Boonesborough Days

Greetings, neighbors. Hard to believe, but Boonesborough Days is upon us already. Hope to see you out supporting local vendors and the Boonsboro Historical Society.

Boonesborough Days will be Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Boonsboro's Shafer Park. It will feature arts, crafts and antiques vendors. Food will be available.

New business opens in town

While you are out and about, check out downtown's newest proprietor.

Shaff's Country Corner is slated to open today at 9 S. Main St. The store will specialize in handmade, scented soy candles, with free samples and refreshments available during the first week of business while supplies last. Stop in for a look around, and to enter a raffle for a basket of candle goodies. Hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.


BAAA has more than 350 youth competing

Boonsboro Area Athletic Association is proud to announce that this year, more than 350 local youths are participating in their football and cheerleading programs.

In an effort to support this activity, BAAA will host a money bonanza on Friday at the Williamsport Fire Hall. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and a 6:30 dinner will be followed by raffles, a DJ and dancing. Catering is by Leiters, and the grand prize is $1,000. Tickets cost $40 per couple, and can be purchased at the door.

Warriors open Friday

The Boonsboro Warrior football team will open the season at home on Friday evening at 7 against Crossland High School from Prince George's County.

Band Boosters seek support

The Boonsboro Band Boosters are looking for your support. For a sponsorship of $50, local businesses can get their names on the trailers used during the marching season. A sponsorship of $100 will include an ad on the trailer, and recognition at the concession stand and at home events. For more information, call Sharon Bell at 301-573-0152.

Golf tournament to benefit preschool

Mt. Nebo Christian Preschool will host a golf tournament to benefit the school on Friday, Sept. 19, at Stonebridge Golf Course in Martinsburg, W.Va. The cost of the event is $75 per person. A shotgun start is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. For more information, call the school at 301-432-8741.
