Rogers' three-run triple gives Suns a victory

August 30, 2008

LAKEWOOD, N.J. - Jake Rogers' bases-loaded triple in the ninth inning led the Hagerstown Suns to a 5-2 victory over the Lakewood BlueClaws in the South Atlantic League on Friday night.

Rogers' drive to center put the cap on the Suns' four-run ninth as they broke a 1-1 tie.

Tim Pahuta led off with a single and went to second on Reymond Cruz's balk. Jesus Valdez singled to move Pahuta to third, and Blake Stouffer's single drove Pahuta in. With one out, Robert Jacobsen was hit by a pitch to load the bases and set the stage for Rogers.

The late heroics made a winner of Hagerstown reliever Ryan Harrison, who pitched the final two innings and allowed one run - coming on Tim Kennelly's RBI double in the bottom of the ninth.

Both starting pitchers had outstanding outings. Cole Kimball allowed one run on two hits and two walks in seven innings while striking out six for the Suns. Michael Cisco allowed one run on five hits in seven innings with seven strikeouts for the BlueClaws.
