INWOOD, W.Va. - Diane S. Plum, 58, of Inwood, died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008, at her home.

Born Oct. 16, 1949, in Somerset, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Dewey L. Meyers and Faye J. Harkcom Meyers.

She received her associates degree from Shepherd University.

She was employed by Shepherd University in the Department of Education as an administrative assistant.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Charles E. Plum; two daughters, Jennifer Zdziera of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Kristen Plum of Bunker Hill, W.Va.; two sisters, Kathleen Shiber of Martinsburg and Margaret Woodward of Ligonier, Pa.; two brothers, Charles Meyers and Douglas Meyers, both of Somerset, Pa.; and one grandchild.

She was preceded in death by two brothers.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at South Berkeley Funeral Chapel in Inwood. The Rev. Ray Martin will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral chapel.

Daniel E. Martin, 69

Daniel E. Martin, 69 of 13716 Cearfoss Pike, Hagerstown, died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008, at his home.

Born May 11, 1939, in Edgemont, he was the son of the late John H. and Luella C. Coss Martin.

He was a salesman for King Oil Co. of Hagerstown.

He was a member of Meadow View Mennonite Church near Hagerstown.

He is survived by his wife, Elva H. Petre Martin., whom he married Jan. 30, 1960; four daughters, Grace Martin and Faith Martin, both of Hagerstown, Charity Shaull of Cobb, Wis. and Hope Diller of Boonsboro; four sons, Rufus Martin, Keedysville, Md., Simeon Martin of Greencastle, Pa., Philemon Martin of Eubank, Ky. and Titus Martin of Smithsburg; three sisters, Elva Petre of State Line, Pa., Lois Bates of Mount Hermon, Ky. and Naomi Strite of Williamsport; one brother, David Martin of Smithsburg; 38 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Joy Martin; and one sister, Martha Halteman.

Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Meadow View Mennonite Church in Hagerstown. The Meadow View Mennonite Church Ministry will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the church and one hour before the service on Saturday.

The family requests that flowers be omitted.

Donna M. Newlon, 37



JULY 25, 1971-AUG. 26, 2008

BIG POOL - Donna Marie Newlon, 37, of 13544 Pectonville Road, died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008, at her home.

Born July 25, 1971, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of Bernard G. Adkins Sr. and Barbara J. Toombs Adkins of Sharpsburg.

She was a 1989 graduate of Boonsboro High School.

She was a shift manager at Subway.

She was a Baptist.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 14 years, Carl G. Newlon Jr.; two daughters, Yolanda J. Newlon and Ashley D. Newlon, both at home; two sisters, Valerie Linderborne of Pasadena, Md., and Bonnie Van Orden of Keedysville; and three brothers, Bernard Adkins Jr. of Pasadena, Matthew Adkins of Glen Burnie, Md., and Robin Adkins of Sharpsburg.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Benita King and Loretta Shortt; and one brother, Lawrence Adkins.

A memorial service will be Friday at 7 p.m. at Osborne Funeral Home in Williamsport. The Rev. Robert V. Robinson will officiate.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, which will open at 9 a.m.

The family requests the omission of flowers.

Meredith L. Yost, 85

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Meredith Loy Yost, 85, of 2085 Wayne Road, died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008, at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born Oct. 2, 1922, in Waynesboro, Pa., he was the son of the late Paul Meredith Yost and Armista Loy Yost.

He was a graduate of the University of Maryland, receiving a degree in Industrial Management and Engineering.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy.

He was employed by Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory as supervisor of the Mechanical Design Group until his retirement.

He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, one daughter, one son and one grandson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church in Hagerstown. The Rev. George Limmer will be celebrant.

Burial will be in St. Gabriel's Cemetery, Potomac, Md.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home in Hagerstown.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
