Suns fall on Martinez's HR in 8th

EASTLAKE, Ohio - Richard Martinez homered off Hagerstown reliever Chris Lugo with two outs in the eighth inning, lifting the Lake County Captains to a 5-4 victory over the Suns on Wednesday night in the South Atlantic League.

The home run finished off the Captains' three-game sweep of the Suns.

All eight other runs came in the first four innings as Lake County and Hagers-town battled back and fourth.

Doubles by Jose Lozada and Tim Pahuta gave the Suns a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, before the Captains tied it in the bottom half. Mark Thompson singled, Matt McBride doubled and Todd Martin drove in Thompson with a sacrifice fly.

Blake Stouffer doubled and scored on Mark Gildea's single to give Hagerstown a 2-1 lead in the second, and a Lake County error in the third helped the Suns make it 3-1, with Sean Rooney driving in Lozada with a sacrifice fly.

The Captains cut the lead to 3-2 in the bottom of the third on Karexon Sanchez's double and Martin's RBI single.

Hagerstown made it 4-2 in the fourth on Lozada's RBI double, before Lake County tied the game in the bottom half. Dustin Realini and Jeffrey Hehr each doubled and Thompson singled in Hehr for the tie.
