August 28, 2008|By HEATHER KEELS

A girl was taken to Washington County Hospital Wednesday after she was bitten by a dog on Potomac Heights Avenue, the Hagerstown Police Department said.

The dog, a brown Labrador retriever, was removed by the Humane Society of Washington County after the incident was reported to police about 3:15 p.m., Lt. Tim Wolford said.

When police arrived, the dog was in its owner's yard at 286 Potomac Heights Ave. and was acting aggressively, Wolford said.

The dog's owner, Raymond Clemetson, told police by phone that the dog was current on all of its vaccinations, Wolford said.
