Talbot County teen named Miss Maryland Agriculture

TIMONIUM, Md. - Lisa Daffin, 18, of Queen Anne in Talbot County, Md., has been named Miss Maryland Agriculture 2008.

Daffin has been an active member of 4-H for 10 years during which time she held the offices of president, vice president, secretary, treasurer and represented Maryland at 4-H Quarter Horse Congress in Columbus, Ohio.

She graduated from Easton High School in 2007 and is majoring in Agricultural Education and Extension with a minor in Agriculture Business at West Virginia University.

Daffin has worked on her family's grain, vegetable and greenhouse operation since she was 8 years old and continues to work on the farm when home from college. Throughout the years, she has also been active in a variety of charitable community events.

Daffin was awarded with scholarships and cash awards valued up to $13,000.

As Miss Maryland Agriculture 2008, she will be present throughout the run of the Maryland State Fair to award prizes, and meet with fairgoers, dignitaries and media representatives. Her responsibilities will continue throughout the year, as she will participate in a number of activities representing Maryland agriculture.
