Frederick teen dies in crash

LIBERTYTOWN, Md. - A Frederick, Md., teenager died Monday when his car ran off the road near Libertytown and struck several trees, Maryland State Police said in a news release.

Jacob William Hubble, 17, of the 9000 block of Clemsonville Road, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Hubble was driving east on New Windsor Road (Md. 31) in a Chevrolet Cavalier at about 6:39 p.m., when the car crossed the center line and left the roadway, police said. The car struck a culvert, continued off the road, struck several trees and came to rest in a stream, police said. Hubble was partially ejected, police said.

The investigation was ongoing, but police did not consider alcohol or drugs to be a factor, police said.
