Nurse appointed to expert panel

Catherine Ware, vascular care specialist at Washington County Hospital, has been appointed to the American Nurses' Credentialing Center's vascular content expert panel.

The panel reviews and develops the test content outline for nurse certification examinations in specialty areas. The panel designs the exams and participates in practice analysis once every five years. Panel members are appointed to four-year terms.

Ware has been a nurse at Washington County Hospital for 30 years. She is a member of Nursing Clinical Practice Council. She also is a member of the Society for Vascular Nursing and received certification in cardiac/vascular nursing in 2007. She is a parish nurse at St. Mark's Episcopal Church.


New health administrator named in Frederick, Md.

FREDERICK, Md. - Tina von Gunten has been appointed health administrator for the Frederick County Health Department.

Von Gunten was appointed after the retirement of Margo Smith. The health administrator is responsible for managing the health department's $28 million operating budget as well as the administrative staff.

New surgeon in Fulton County

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - The medical staff of Fulton County Medical Center announces the addition of general surgeon, Dr. Anuj Prashar.

Prashar will see patients at FCMC Specialty Physician Services in Penn's Village Shopping Center every Thursday.
