On Aug. 18, TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Chapter 77 did not have a good weight-loss report as a group.

The group welcomed another new member, Joann. It also had another member reach her goal to become the 21st KOPS (Keep Off Pounds Sensibly) member. Congratulations, Ruth Grove.

The group discussed its upcoming picnic to be held at Martin L. "Marty" Snook Memorial Park in Halfway on Sept. 8. The members will be weighing in at the park before the picnic.

The "Get-R-Done" winners were Trudy Heather and Joan Gilbert. Each had a 4 1/2-pound loss this week. Millie Toms led the program on "Food For Thought." The members learned the foods they eat can stimulate the brain and that refined foods strip the body of nutrients, thus affecting the brain.

Today the group will be holding its "Play Money Auction" after a short meeting. This is always fun when the members spend their play money they earned for the past six months for losing, keeping eat sheets, etc.

For more information, call Donna at 301-223-8143 or Patsy at 301-582-2292.

TOPS 446

The TOPS (Take of Pounds Sensibly) Chapter 446 members heard a program about how different fruits and vegetables look like some of our body parts and what they do for that body part. Did you know tomatoes have four chambers like our hearts and are red, too, of course? They are loaded with lycopine and are indeed pure heart and blood food. That is only one example.

The group also welcomed new member, Linda.

The Wednesday meeting will be a talk about artificial sweeteners.

For more information, call Tom or Mary at 301-797-2547 or call Judy at 301-739-927.
