Paul S. Levie, 80

INWOOD, W.Va. - Paul Siegbert Levie, 80, of Inwood, died Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, at his home.

Born Sept. 1, 1927, in Kieslauten, Germany, he was the son of the late Freda Colman.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Marie Schmidt Levie.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army and the Air Force.

He is survived by one son, Paul MR Levie of Hedgesville, W.Va.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services and burial will be private.

Arrangements are by Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home in Berkeley Springs, W.Va.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - George Clifton Price Sr., 77, of Martinsburg, died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.

Born Oct. 28, 1930, in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late Calvin and Hattie Mae Whitacre Price.

He retired from the National Fruit Co.

He served in the U.S. Army.

He attended Beth Haven Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Jane Logue Price; one daughter, Vanessa Sours of Martinsburg; one son, George C. Price Jr. of Martinsburg; one sister, Angeline J. Erb of North Carolina; one brother, James M. Price of Bunker Hill, W.Va.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Wanda Sharff and Kathleen Walker; and four brothers, Calvin Price, Pickford Price, Glenville Price and Isaac Price.

Services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg. The Rev. Paul E. Buracker will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Maria Gruenwald, 84

Maria Gruenwald, 84, of Hagerstown, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008, at her home.

Born May 20, 1924, in Krakow, Poland, she was the daughter of the late Gregor Zacharczuk and Lena Zacharczuk.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Gruenwald, in 1997.

She was a Holocaust survivor.

She is survived by two sons, Jackie E. Gruenwald of Franklin, Wis., and Gary A. Gruenwald of Hagerstown; and seven grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Wood National Cemetery, Milwaukee, Wis.

There will be no viewing or visitation.

James W. Dutterer, 95

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - James W. Dutterer, 95, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.

Born Feb. 8, 1913, in Silver Run, Md., he was the son of the late L. Oliver and Emma Halter Dutterer.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Leppo Dutterer, in 1989.

He was the owner of Dutterer's Restaurant.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by one daughter, Karen Dutterer of Martinsburg.

Services and burial were private.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Patrycia D. Wolfe, 78, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.

Born Aug. 16, 1930, in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Joseph L. Dugan and Catherine Snyder Dugan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Neil Meredith Wolfe, in 1996.

She worked for Perfection Garment Factory.

She was a member of Tomahawk Christian Church and attended Butlers Chapel Baptist Church.

She was a member of Panhandlers Square Dance Club.

She is survived by one daughter, Andrea N. Allen; one son, Kevin M. Wolfe; one sister, Barbara Jean Armbrester; four brothers, Daniel Dugan, Joseph Dugan, Charles Dugan and Dale Dugan; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; grandnieces; and grandnephews.

A memorial service will be Thursday at 6 p.m. at Molar Avenue Church of the Brethren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 122 Waverly Court, Martinsburg, WV 25401.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Floyd "Papa" Thompson Sr., 70, of Martinsburg, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008, in Charles Town, W.Va.

Born May 22, 1938, in Buckholts, Texas, he was the son of the late Gladys and Ruben Thompson Sr.

He attended schools in the Merced, Calif. area.

He retired as a certified traffic supervisor in Grand Junction, Colo.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

He played the saxophone with the "Blue Notes" band of Merced.
