A man who entered a Hagerstown house Friday afternoon fled the residence after a brief struggle with one of the residents, according to a Hagerstown Police Department press release.
Police said they responded just after 3 p.m. to a report of a home invasion at 900 Spruce St.
The suspect is a black man between 25 and 30 years old who was wearing a white tank top, blue jeans, a light brown hat and brown shoes, police said.
Two adults and two children were home when the man entered the house, police said.
The man entered the house with his face covered with a cloth and was carrying what appeared to be a handgun, police said.
After a brief struggle over the gun with one of the adults, the man ran out of the house and went south on Spruce Street, police said. He then got into a white SUV with tinted windows and Maryland registration, police said.
