Lorraine S. Younkin, 44



SEPT. 27, 1963-AUG. 21, 2008

Lorraine Susanne "Lori" Younkin, 44, of 11 W. Baltimore St., Hagerstown, died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008, at her home.

Born Sept. 27, 1963, in Washington County, she was the daughter of Nancy Janes of Hagerstown.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by three sisters, Debra Richardson, Marie Younkin and Kathy Butts, all of Hagerstown; one brother, Martin White of Pensacola, Fla.; a lifelong friend, Mike Daley of Hagerstown; nieces; and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Chris Morris.

A memorial service will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Hagerstown First Church of God. The Rev. David Sword will officiate.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

There will be no viewing.

The family requests the omission of flowers.

Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Washington County, 13011 Maugansville Road, P.O. Box 367, Hagerstown, MD 21740.

Dorothy J. Aldridge, 87

Dorothy June Aldridge, 87, of 310 S. Locust St., Hagerstown, died Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, at her home.

Born March 12, 1921, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Raymond E. and Nellie Jane Cockenour Kline.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Aldridge, in 2002.

She retired from the Hagerstown Shoe Co.

She is survived by two grandsons, Raymond J. Hare Jr. of Hagerstown and Dennis B. Hare of Falling Waters, W.Va.; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Raymond J. Hare Sr.; three brothers; and stepmother, Anna Mary Kline.

Graveside services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The Rev. Steve Taylor will officiate.

There will be no viewing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.

James T. Wetzel, 57



JULY 7, 1951-AUG. 22, 2008

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - James T. Wetzel, 57, of 10334 Amsterdam Road, died Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, at his home.

Born July 7, 1951, in Franklin County, Pa., he was the son of the late Amos F. and Betty Jane Martin Wetzel.

He received his GED from Waynesboro Area Senior High School.

He was last employed in the maintenance department of RiverBend Membership Corporation in Falling Waters, W.Va.

He was a member of Order of Owls Nest 1073 of Waynesboro.

He is survived by one daughter, Kim L. Malott of Falling Waters; one son, James T. Wetzel Jr. of Smithsburg; two sisters, Katherine V. Wetzel and Rose M. Miller, both of Waynesboro; four brothers, Donald E. Wetzel of Waynesboro, Charles Wetzel of Greencastle, Pa., and Terry J. Wetzel and Bryan R. Wetzel, both of Waynesboro; three grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, infant Roy F. Wetzel and William E. Wetzel.

A memorial service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Jacob's Church Cemetery, near Fairfield, Pa.

Arrangements are by Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home in Waynesboro.




Thomas F. Grant, 58



APRIL 7, 1950-AUG. 21, 2008

FAYETEVILLE, Pa. - Thomas Franklin Grant, 58, of Lincoln Way East, died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008, at his home.

Born April 7, 1950, in Irvington, N.J., he was the son of Dorothy Riley Grant of Greenville, S.C. and the late Archibald Grant.

He was a graduate of Newark (N.J.) High School.

He was a graduate of Jamestown (N.D.) College, receiving a bachlor's degree.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Mary G. Rodham Grant, whom he married Aug. 28, 1971; one daughter, Shannon E. Grant of Fayetteville; two sons, Jeffrey T. Grant of Fayetteville and Matthew C. Grant of Chambersburg, Pa.; and four grandchildren.

Burial will be private.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at J.L. Davis Funeral Home in Smithsburg. A service will be held during the visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Good Shepherd/Lutheran Home Care Services, 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17201.




Louise B. Kennedy, 80



APRIL 16, 1928-AUG. 21, 2008

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Louise B. Kennedy, 80, of 911 E. McKinley St., died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008, at Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born April 16, 1928, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Edward L. and Margareta Mower Bowers.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, William K. Wishard, in 1971.

She and her first husband owned and operated Bowers Jewelry Store and Yarn Shop in downtown Chambersburg, retiring in 1975.

She was a member of the Chambersburg Country Club and Spalding Hole in One Club.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Robert F. Kennedy; three children, William E. Wishard of Mechanicsburg, Pa., Bradley K. Wishard of Chambersburg and Kimberly L. Wishard of Geneva, Switzerland; one sister, Jean Kuhn of Birmingham, Mich.; and two grandchildren.

Private burial will be at the convenience of the family.
