Donald L. Duncan, 64

APRIL 21, 1944-AUG. 21, 2008

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Donald Lee Duncan, 64, of Martinsburg, died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008, at City Hospital.

Born April 21, 1944, in Jefferson County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Harry Duncan and Edna Frye Duncan.

He retired from CSX as a machinist.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Taylor Duncan; four sons, Donald A. Duncan of Indianapolis, Joseph L. Duncan and Edward W. Duncan, both of Martinsburg, and Ronnie Duncan of Louisburg, N.C.; one sister, Evelyn Marken of Harpers Ferry, W.Va.; one brother, Jimmy Duncan of Shepherdstown, W.Va.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Gene Duncan and Dale Duncan; and one granddaughter.

Services and burial will be private.

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg.

Roger D. Stoops, 63

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Roger Dale Stoops, 63, formerly of 178 Hamilton Ave., died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, at Manorcare Health Services in Chambersburg, Pa.

Born May 29, 1945, in Waynesboro, he was the son of T. Irene Stoops Baughman of Waynesboro.

He worked for shoe factories in the area.

He attended Calvary Assembly of God Church in Waynesboro.

He enjoyed playing his guitar and organ, hunting and fishing.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by one daughter, Mary Ann Jackson of Lancaster, Pa.; one son, Tony Stoops of Hanover, Pa.; four brothers, Gary E. Stoops, Jeffrey L. Baughman and Timothy A. Baughman, all of Waynesboro, and S. Dennis Baughman of Buffalo, N.Y.; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and his special friend, Cathy Moats of Waynesboro.

Services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 384 Floral Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201.

Arrangements are by Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro.

Dorothy L. Brunner, 83

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Dorothy L. Kinley Brunner, 83, of 114 Barnett Ave., died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, at her home.

Born May 3, 1925, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Harris W. and Susan Lefever Kinley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Glenn Brunner Sr., in 1991. They were married April 26, 1941.

She attended Waynesboro schools.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Otterbein Church in Waynesboro.

She was a member of South Chapter 2977 AARP and the National AARP.

She is survived by nine daughters, Judy A. Barton of Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., Barbara Rouzer of Mont Alto, Pa., Susan K. Mowen, Wanda L. Brown, Bonnie B. Royer, Sherry L. Fessler, Patti A. McLaughlin and Robin L. McKean, all of Waynesboro, and Lisa D. Williams of Pittsburg, Kan.; three sons, Darrell G. Brunner of Orbisonia, Pa., and John J. Brunner and Roger W. Brunner, both of Waynesboro; two sisters, Virginia Harbaugh and Martha Butts, both of Waynesboro; 50 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Glenda M. Bowers; three sons, Harold Brunner, Earl G. Brunner Jr. and Harris W. Brunner; four sisters, Blanche Harbaugh, Pansye Hann, Ardella Dowlin and Susan Powell; five brothers, Paul Kinley, Richard Kinley, Charles Kinley, Robert Kinley and Harris Kinley Jr.; and three grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro. The Rev. Michael Newman will officiate. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Robert F. Kantner, 98

FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Robert F. "Uncle Bob" Kantner, 98, of the Village of Laurel Run, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008.

He was born Nov. 16, 1909, in Schuylkill Haven, Pa.

He worked for Hartman Construction and Enterprises in Reading, Pa. for 50 years, serving as a foreman in road construction.

He is survived by the Hartman family, with whom he lived for 42 years and will be missed by their son, Herb and wife, Naomi, their six children and 19 grandchildren.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are by Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Crematorium in Chambersburg, Pa.

Luke A. McCormick, 22

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Luke Alexander McCormick, 22, of Charles Town, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008, in Morgantown, W.Va.

Born Jan. 22, 1986, in Frederick, Md., he was the son of Marshall McCormick of Charles Town and Alicia McCormick of Uvilla, W.Va.

He was a student at West Virginia University in Morgantown.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his stepmother, Nancy McCormick of Charles Town; two brothers, Ben McCormick and Joe McCormick, both of Charles Town; maternal grandparents, Charles and Gwendolyn Rector of Annapolis; aunts; uncles; and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

There will be no visitation.
