MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A Berkeley County woman charged with driving under the influence after being involved in a two-vehicle accident Thursday on Hedgesville Road told police she was taking her 7-year-old daughter to school orientation, according to Berkeley County Magistrate Court records.

Kristen Liotta Collier, 27, of 2556 McCoys Ferry Road, was arraigned by Magistrate Jim Humphrey, who set a $10,000 bond for the defendant, who also was charged with DUI with a minor child in the vehicle, according to records.

Both vehicles - a Toyota minivan and a red Pontiac Grand Am - involved in the accident at the intersection of Hedgesville Road (W.Va. 9) and Cowardly Lion Drive only received minor damage from the collision, according to a complaint by West Virginia State Police Trooper D.S. See, who responded to investigate at 5:15 p.m.

Collier failed three field sobriety tests and had a blood-alcohol level of 0.125, See said.
