Edward L. Warren, 76

SEPT. 26, 1931-AUG. 19, 2008

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Edward L. Warren, 76, of 243 Geiser Ave., died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008, at Healthsouth Regional Specialty Hospital in Mechanicsburg, Pa.

Born Sept. 26, 1931, in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Herman E. and Mildred E. Myers Warren.

He was a 1949 graduate of Washington Township High School. He attended Deforest Technical Institute in Chicago for television and radio.

Prior to retiring in 1990, he was a service lineman for West Penn Power for 33 years. After his retirement, he worked at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home.


He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Waynesboro, where he served as teacher, trustee, deacon and head usher.

He was a member of Joe Stickell American Legion Post 15 of Waynesboro and National AARP.

He is survived by his wife, Doris M. Johnson Warren, whom he married June 5, 1955; two sons, Karl E. Warren of Waynesboro and Eric M. Warren of Hagerstown; two sisters, Donna J. Rudolph of Rouzerville, Pa., and Linda Blubaugh of Waynesboro; three grandsons; nieces; and nephews.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church in Waynesboro. The Rev. John F. Huff will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery in Waynesboro, with military services by the Honor Guard of Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599 of Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home in Waynesboro.

Charles S. Defibaugh, 91

SEPT. 26, 1916-AUG. 17, 2008

ORLANDO, Fla. - Charles Sidney Defibaugh, 91, of Orlando and formerly of Hagerstown, died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008, at the Lutheran Commons in Orlando.

Born Sept. 26, 1916, in Cumberland, Md., he was the son of the late John G. and Ruth Defibaugh-Wilkinson.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Martha A. Cheshire Defibaugh.

He was a graduate of Piedmont (W.Va.) High School.

He retired as owner and president of The Marquis Co. in Hagerstown and Cumberland.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church in Hagerstown.

He was a member of the Hagerstown VFW, Kiwanis Club of Suburban Hagerstown, Tall Cedars, Hagerstown Junior College Boosters Club and Fountain Head Country Club.

He is survived by one son, John Defibaugh of Orlando.

A memorial service will be Thursday, Aug. 28, at 10 a.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel in Hagerstown. The Rev. Richard Jewel will officiate.

Doris A. Wilson, 75

JULY 3, 1933-AUG. 20, 2008

HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Doris Aderhold Wilson, 75, of Harpers Ferry, died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, at her home.

Born July 3, 1933, in Siler City, N.C., she was the daughter of the late David Watson Aderhold and Lillie Griffin Aderhold.

She retired from the insurance industry after 37 years of service, as a secretary.

She was a Baptist.

She is survived by one sister, Jeannette A. Brown of Chatham, Va.; four nieces; and two nephews.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, John Timothy Wilson.

Services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, 122 Waverly Court, Martinsburg, WV 25403.

Arrangements are by Eackles-Spencer and Norton Funeral Home in Harpers Ferry.

Graclyn M. Gelsinger, infant

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Graclyn Michele Gelsinger, infant daughter of Scott Gelsinger and Kaysie Houck of Waynesboro, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008, at Chambersburg (Pa.) Hospital.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her maternal grandparents, Richard and Jackie Houck of Greencastle, Pa., and Lisa Houck of Fort Loudon, Pa.; her paternal grandparents, Robert and Deanna Gelsinger of Waynesboro; her maternal great-grandparents, Alice Houck a resident of Heritage Hills, and John and Rose Davis of Upton, Pa.; and her paternal great-grandparents, Carole Gelsinger of Shady Grove, Pa., and Harold and Mary Shirey of Clearfield, Pa.

She was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandfather, Wayne Houck; and her paternal great-grandfather, Gerald H. Gelsinger.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home in Greencastle. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Greencastle.

The family will receive friends Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Jared L. Conlon, 26

FEB. 21, 1982-AUG. 18, 2008

Greencastle, Pa. - Jared Lee Conlon, 26, of Greencastle, died Monday, Aug. 18, 2008, in Breezewood, Pa., from injuries sustained while repairing a vehicle.

Born Feb. 21, 1982, in Sierra Vista, Ariz., he was the son of Barbara Zimmer and Dennis M. Conlon, both of Sierra Vista.

He graduated from high school in 2000.

He was an auto mechanic, employed by Mobile Maintenance and Towing in Greencastle.

He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, snowboarding and paint balling.
