West Hagerstown Lions Club news

On Aug. 4, the West Hagestown Lions Club held its annual picnic at Funkstown Community Park. President Mark Smith made the event possible for all Lions Club members along with their families. The group enjoyed corn on the cob with all the trimmings.

The Lions Club has collected more than 300 eyeglasses in the past few months.

At this time, the West Hagerstown Lady Lions are making Christmas crafts to be sold during the upcoming holiday season. Also, please keep an eye out for the Lions Club in your area that will be offering Bon Ton Bonus Books. The books will be sold for $5, but will offer a savings of $10 from any Bon Ton location on Nov. 15. For more information, call Frances Ruth at 240-313-9222.

Winter Street School Alumni

Members of the Winter Street School Alumni are looking in the community for graduates of Winter Street School.

Your attendance at Winter Street could have been for a school year or the length of your elementary education.

The group meets at Always Ron's the second Tuesday of the month. If you are able to attend, you are assured of a good time and asked to bring any photos that you might have of your time at Winter Street. However, this is not a requirement.

Also the group is busy preparing for one of this year's trips. On Tuesday, Nov. 11, the group will travel to the American Music Theatre in Lancaster, Pa. This is a bus trip that is offered through Baer Express Tours. For reservations or additional information, call 301-797-5277.

For more information, call Anna at 301-797-1514.
