Concert tonight starts off Williamsport Days

The Williamsport Community Band concert is tonight starting at 6:30, and a fireworks display will follow at dusk at Byron Memorial Park.

Town Museum

Visit the Town Museum in the Springfield Farm Barn during Williamsport Days this weekend for special displays, including Williamsport Wood Carvers; metal-detecting display and demonstration; a 1947 Hagerstown Transit Bus restored by Gene Kelly and son, Gene Jr.; Phil Elgin's restored 1952 Willy's Army Jeep with artillery; military display by Philip Mayhue; Kim Bower's 1936 Chevrolet; Linden Hall Farms produce and homemade root beer.

While visiting the museum, get your tickets for the upcoming USO Canteen Dinner, Dance and Show to be held Sept. 13 in Springfield Farm Barn. Tickets cost $25 per person or $45 per couple.

Pearl Harbor stories

Williamsport residents are invited to participate, at no cost, by sharing their personal stories and images of three days that transformed our country - the bombing of Pearl Harbor, the day President John Kennedy was assassinated and 9/11.

Book sale

Williamsport Memorial Library will hold its annual donated book sale in the library's lower level Thursday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Prices range from 25 cents to $5.

Blood drive

A Red Cross blood drive will be Saturday at Williamsport American Legion Post 202 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Pancake breakfast

WHS Athletic Boosters needs volunteers for its pancake breakfast for homecoming on Oct. 18. Contact Susan Wade, committee chairperson, or Mike Starliper for information. The WHS class of 1957 will hold a dinner get-together at Richardson's Restaurant to celebrate the 51st class reunion on Saturday, Sept. 20, from 1 to 4 p.m. For more information, call Larry Horchner at 301-223-9280.

Financial workshop
