Hagerstown woman faces charges in connection with shooting

A Hagerstown woman has been charged with attempted murder and other crimes in connection with a Tuesday morning shooting, Washington County District Court records show.

Jennifer Lynn Williams, 37, of 406 W. Washington Street, apartment 3, was charged with attempted second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, having a handgun on her person, concealing a dangerous weapon, discharging a firearm in city limits and possession of drug paraphernalia, court records show.

Hagerstown Police said a woman was walking on West Church Street near the intersection of North Walnut Street at 5 a.m. when she heard a gunshot. The woman was not injured.

Williams was arrested at the scene, police said. She was being held Tuesday at the Washington County Detention Center on $350,000 bond, court records show.
