August 20, 2008

An exhibit by artist Alisa Anderson has been on display at Contemporary School of the Arts and Gallery Inc. in downtown Hagerstown.

It was the first solo art exhibit at the gallery for Anderson.

Anderson, who is from Russia, teaches day care in Smithsburg. She will be continuing her education in Washington, D.C., this fall after attending Hagerstown Community College.

The downtown reception was well attended by residents of the the area, a gallery spokesman said. Anderson was commissioned to do a painting that was on display. It was titled "Narcissus," which was an oil and acrylic on panel.

The exhibit will be on display until Sept. 30. The gallery is at 4 W. Franklin St. in Hagerstown.
