The Smiths

Richard W. and Sylvia S. Smith of Hagerstown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 29, 2008, in LeFew Hall at Washington Square United Methodist Church in Hagerstown.

The party was hosted by their church family.

Mrs. Smith retired from Maryland Ribbon in Hagerstown and Mr. Smith retired from Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg, Pa.

They were married on June 26, 1958, at Washington Square United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Charles LeFew, now deceased.

The Millers

Kenneth and Brenda Miller of Chambersburg, Pa., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Hagerstown on July 26, 2008. A surprise party was hosted by daughter Anita and son Jeff and his wife, Martha.

The Millers were married in Pearisburg, Va., on July 29, 1958.

Ms. Miller is retired from Kensington Daycare Center and Mr. Miller is retired from the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission. They have five grandchildren and one great granddaughter.


After the celebration, the Millers traveled to The Inn at Jim Thorpe, in Jim Thorpe, Pa.

The DeLauders

William M. and Helen DeLauder of Hagerstown celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a dinner hosted by their sons, Jeffrey and Andrew.

They were married on July 3, 1948, at Christ's Reformed Church in Hagerstown by the Rev. Frederick Eyster, now deceased.

Mrs. Helen is the daughter of the late Guy and Anna LeFevre.

Mr. DeLauder is the son of the late Milton and Lulu DeLauder.

Mrs. DeLauder is retired from the traffic manager's office at Fairchild Aircraft. Mr. DeLauder served aboard the USS Montpelier in the Pacific during World War II and is retired from Beachley Furniture Co. of Hagerstown.
