"I just want to make a statement. I want to thank our government and the justice system, the judicial system, for incarcerating the murderer Brandon Morris, putting him in Leavenworth for his own protection. Who is now protecting Jeffery Wroten's family? Answer that question. It's gonna cost us, the taxpayers, the working class, more than a million dollars to put that murderer - keep that murderer. I dare you publish it. We need the death penalty for the murderers like him." - Hagerstown

"I'm listening to George Bush saying it was unacceptable that Russia would invade a sovereign country. Well, wait a minute, George. Didn't you do that, seven years ago?" - Hagerstown

"This goes out to the Washington County Commissioners. I don't know why you guys have to tear down the old Maugansville school. There's some kind of crazy reason behind it, I'm sure, that you guys have. But it could be made into the new Maugansville post office/library/learning center." - Broadfording Road

"I went to the Leitersburg Peach Festival on Saturday, and counted more than 12 dogs, and not one of those people carried a bag to clean up after their pet. I don't think this was necessary. I left my Fido at home. I love dogs very much, but Fido stayed home." - Williamsport

"I'm one of 12,000-plus that had their unlisted telephone number published. I signed up with 'opt out,' and I'm way over the 31-day waiting period. I called the FCC to file a complaint. No live person; only recordings, and was told the number I was filing against was the same number I was calling from, yet you have to call from your home telephone number to file this complaint. I called Verizon, and they will trace each unwanted call, but at $1 each. I get four to six calls a day. When is the government gonna step in and help with this problem?" - Hagerstown

"You gripers, complaining about the kids getting money from the commissioners - well, I am proud of the Hagerstown kids. It is great for the Tri-State area team to do well when competing with teams outside of the Tri-State. Go, kids. I hope you take it all. And I'm proud of the Hagerstown kids." - Shepherdstown, W.Va.

"I hope people who want drilling now in the U.S. are getting a hold of their senator or congressman. I got a hold of mine. I sent him a e-mail, and not only that, I sent him a letter about drilling now, and demanding an answer. We're paying Nancy Pelosi's salary; she's not paying ours, and she owes us more than what she did on the last day, when she took off to promote her book, at our expense also. If people don't let Congress know what they think, they have no business complaining if gas is $4 or $5 a gallon or up. So I urge you all to speak up." - Waynesboro, Pa.

"This is what I think about Federal Little League. We have a major league team in Maryland, paying more than millions of dollars a year for each player, and don't even have but two good pitchers, and they can't even make the state of Maryland proud of them. These boys play their hearts out for the sport of it, and don't get anything. We're proud of them. I say split the $10,000 among the players and coaches, and let it go at that. They're well worth it." - Sharpsburg

"I believe that all policemen should be able to take their cruisers home with them, driving them around town, whatever they want to do, because policemen are on duty 24 hours a day. There is no such thing as an off-duty cop. So they should have the cruiser and the equipment that comes with it at their disposal at all times." - Hagerstown

"I would like to thank the people at The Maryland Theatre for putting on the Wind Down Friday event. It has been absolutely wonderful to enjoy live music outside in downtown Hagerstown, surrounded by such lovely people. Please keep up the good work, and I hope there are many more events to come. God bless you all." - Hagerstown
