Hagerstown restaurants raising money for Little League

August 14, 2008

Uno Chicago Grill at the Centre at Hagerstown is raising money for the Federal Little League 11-12 All-Stars.

The Hagerstown team is scheduled to play Friday, Monday and Tuesday at the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa.

On each day, 20 percent of the checks for all eat-in or take-out orders will be donated to the league.

Customers must either present a Dough Raiser coupon, which can be printed from www.federallittleleague.com, or they must wear Federal colors - red (for Maryland) or orange (for the Mid-Atlantic Region).

Kelly Floyd, a personal touch marketer for Uno Chicago Grill, said the special will remain in effect if Federal qualifies to play more than three games in Williamsport.

The restaurant will show the televised game and will hold raffles for merchandise that players will sign when they get back to Hagerstown.

Floyd said the team also will hold a "Meet and Greet" event at the restaurant at some point after it plays its last Little League World Series game.

Beef O'Brady's, north of Hagerstown, also is donating to the league a portion of proceeds from sales on the nights of Federal's games.
