Aug. 14: The Shepherd's Table (Williamsport Ministerium soup kitchen) at Rehoboth United Methodist Church, 30 E. Salisbury St., 5:15 to 6:30 p.m.

Aug. 15: Children's story hour at Williamsport Memorial Library, ages 3 to 5, 1:30 p.m.

Aug. 18: Williamsport Fire Co. meeting, 7 p.m.

Aug. 20: Red Super Scooter drawing from the Williamsport Volunteer Fire and EMS. Tickets are available at the fire hall.

Aug. 25-30: a carnival, sponsored by the Funkstown Rod 'n Gun Club and the Downsville Ruritan in Byron Park at Pavilion 3. Entertainment every night, a cruise-in Aug. 30 from 5 to 9 p.m.

Sept. 13: A USO Dance with Ray Birely Big Band, show with Abbott and Costello, and dinner from 7 to 10 p.m. in the historic Springfield Farm Barn. Tickets for the evening event are $25 per person or $45 per couple and will be available at the Town Hall during regular business hours and the Town Museum, Springfield Lane, Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m. and a Salute to the Troops at 2 p.m.
