Aug. 21 - Pasture Walk, David Herbst Farm (130-cow dairy using TMR (Total Mixed Ration in addition to pasture), 14230 Misty Meadow Road, Smithsburg. From Smithsburg, go north on Md. 64/Smithsburg Pike approximately 3.5 miles. Turn right onto Ringgold Pike/Md. 418 and go 0.6 miles. Turn right onto Misty Meadow Road and go 0.3 miles to farm on the right, 10 a.m.

o To reach the Washington County Extension office, drive about 7 miles south of Hagerstown from the Interstate 70 exit onto Sharpsburg Pike (Md. 65). The office is in the Washington County Agricultural Education complex.

o The Franklin County, Pa., Extension office is at 181 Franklin Farm Lane, Chambersburg, Pa. From Hagerstown, take Interstate 81 north to the U.S. 30 East exit. Take the first road to the left, which is Franklin Farm Lane.

o The Jefferson County, W.Va., Extension office is in Suite 3 at 1948 Wiltshire Road, Kearneysville, W.Va. Call 304-728-7413.
