Brownies given permission to meet at Town Hall

CLEAR SPRING - The Clear Spring Town Council on Monday gave Brownie Troop No. 267 permission to hold meetings at Town Hall.

The meetings will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on the first and third Mondays of each month.

Town to ask county for advice on homebuilding contract

CLEAR SPRING - The Clear Spring Town Council will seek the opinion of Washington County officials to determine the proper action to take against a homeowner who has taken more than one year to finish building a home on his property at 11 Mill St.

In May 2007, Patrick Murphy of 11 Mill St. entered into a contract with the town that stipulated he had one year to finish the home, Town Clerk Juanita Grimm said during a Monday meeting.

The council discussed reissuing building permits, but decided the best action would be to ask the county for advice.
