Restaurants dishout special prices



The Hagerstown-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau announces a new promotion at more than a dozen participating restaurants throughout the county.

The two Hagerstown Restaurant Weeks are Monday, Aug. 11 through Friday, Aug. 15, and Monday, Aug. 18, through Friday, Aug. 22.

Participating restaurants are offering either a $20.08 special or $30.08 three-course meal that includes an appetizer or salad, an entre and a dessert.

All Restaurant Week features are offered in addition to the regular menu and do not include beverage, tax, or gratuity.

Reservations are recommended.

Chivalry alive at Renaissance faire



Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire's chivalry and romance weekend will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, and Sunday, Aug. 17, at Mount Hope Estate & Winery, Pa. 72, one-half mile south of Pennsylvania Turnpike exit 266.

An American Red Cross blood drive will be from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, and Sunday, Aug. 17. All donors will receive free admission into the festival on that day.

The Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire continues its 12-week run with 90 stage shows, scores of artisans and award-winning wine samples daily.
