Taylor-Block-Wise

Florence K. Taylor-Block and Merhle Wayne Wise announce their engagement.

Ms. Taylor-Block is the daughter of the late Katherine and Earl Grove Sr. and is a graduate of South Hagerstown High School. She is employed as a Realtor with Coldwell Banker in Hagerstown.

Mr. Wise is the son of the late Merhle and Marguerite Wise and is a graduate of Middletown High School. He is a carpenter with Montgomery County Board of Education.

A 2009 wedding is planned.




Hess-Ruckle

Jennifer Michelle Hess and Matthew Dale Ruckle of Shepherdstown, W.Va., announce their engagement.

Ms. Hess is the daughter of Bette L. and M. Warren Hess of Shepherdstown. She is a 2004 graduate of Jefferson High School and plans to graduate from Shepherd University in December 2008 with a degree in clinical psychology and a specialization in health psychology. She is employed as a health and fitness technician at West Virginia University Hospital-East in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Mr. Ruckle is the son of Barbara J. and L. Dale Ruckle of Thomas, W.Va. He is a 1991 graduate of Tucker County High School and a 1997 graduate of Fairmont State College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in health and physical education. He received a Master of Science degree in athletic coaching education from West Virginia University in 2007 and is employed at Musselman Middle School in Inwood, W.Va., as a physical education teacher and basketball coach.

A December 2008 wedding is planned.




Smith-Todd

Valerie Maiolo-Smith and Jeffrey Schrecongost Sr. of Williamsport announce the engagement of their daughter, Catherine "Caytie" Smith, to Michael Todd, son of Phillip Todd of Fishkill, N.Y., and the late Marion Todd.

Ms. Smith is a 2001 graduate of Saint James School and a 2005 graduate of Amherst College with a bachelor's degree in psychology and law, jurisprudence and social thought. She is employed as a project coordinator with Acelero Learning in New York, N.Y.

Mr. Todd is a 2001 graduate of Plattsburgh State University with a bachelor's degree in psychology. He received a master's degree in elementary education from Mercy College in 2005. He is employed as a special education teacher with the New York City Department of Education.

An Aug. 9, 2009, wedding is planned.




Taylor-Mullendore

Joanna "Jo" M. Taylor and Joseph D. Mullendore announce their engagement.

Miss Taylor is the daughter of Maria Taylor of Bel Air, Md., and the late Oliver E. Taylor. Mr. Mullendore is the son of John and Deanna Mullendore of Clear Spring.

Miss Taylor earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and a Master of Business Administration degree at the University of South Florida. She is employed by Capital One as a senior compliance manager.

Mr. Mullendore is a graduate of the University of Maryland, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in international government and politics. He is an officer for the Prince George's County Police Department.

A September wedding is planned.




Mitchell-Gardenhour

Mr. and Mrs. David Mitchell of Waynesboro, Va., announce the engagement of their daughter, Holly Denise Mitchell, to Troy Allen Gardenhour.

Ms. Mitchell is a 1998 graduate of Wilson Memorial High School in Fishersville, Va., and a 2002 graduate of Bridgewater College in Bridgewater, Va., with a bachelor's degree in music. She is pursuing a master's degree in middle level education from Walden University. She is employed by Washington County Public Schools as a choral director at Boonsboro Middle School in Boonsboro.

Mr. Gardenhour is the son of the late Charles Gardenhour Jr. and Edith Gorman and step-son of Gary Gorman of Fayetteville, Pa. He is a 1991 graduate of Fairfield High School in Fairfield, Pa. He is employed as a manufacturing engineering technician at Manitowoc Crane Group in Shady Grove, Pa.

A July 4, 2009, wedding is planned.
