A Hagerstown woman who police say twice ran into her husband with their sport utility vehicle was charged Thursday with attempted second-degree murder.

Deputies said they responded at 2 a.m. Thursday to 15 Park Ave. in Hagerstown, where a domestic dispute had escalated.

Deputy J.L. Barnhart alleged in a news release that Shawnee Renee White ran into her husband with the couple's SUV and crashed through a neighbor's fence with him hanging on the front.

Joseph Stephen White refused medical attention, deputies said.

Shawnee White, 32, of 15 Park Avenue, was charged with two counts of attempted second-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault, four counts of second-degree assault, one count of malicious destruction of property more than $500 and one count of reckless endangerment.

Shawnee White was being held Thursday night at the Washington County Detention Center, a deputy said.
