Washington Co. BOE awards about $1.5 million in contracts

The Washington County Board of Education voted 7-0 Tuesday to award about $1.5 million in contracts.

The school board approved a $1.1 million copier lease with Oce' N. America for two new digital copiers for Rockland Woods Elementary School, and 70 new copiers to replace existing copiers at county schools, according to documents.

The school board approved a $331,934 contract for custodial supplies with Weiss Bros. of Hagerstown. The contract is for one year, according to documents.

Weiss Bros. has provided custodial supplies for Washington County Public Schools for years, documents state.

The school board also approved a $201,317 contract with Weiss Bros. in Hagerstown for its cafeteria paper supplies.

Weiss Bros. was the lowest bidder on the contract.
