The Franklin County Fair has added a Princess contest, for ages 11 to 14, to go with its contests for Little Miss, ages 7 to 9, and Fair Queen, ages 16 to 20.
The Fulton County Fair also is trying something new - giving away a flat-screen TV each night at 10 p.m. from Monday, Aug. 11, through Saturday, Aug. 16, said Don DeShong, fairground manager. Enter the drawing with your admission ticket and you must be present to win.
FULTON COUNTY FAIR
Sunday, Aug. 10, to Saturday, Aug. 16, at Fulton County Fairgrounds, off old U.S. 30, 1/2 mile east of McConnellsburg, Pa. On Sunday, Aug. 10, admission is free. Other days: Children younger than 2 are admitted free. Ages 2 and older, $6 without carnival rides or $8 with carnival rides. Fair passes are available. Fair is Saturday, Aug. 16, to Saturday, Aug. 23, at Jefferson County Fairgrounds on Old Leetown Pike, three miles west of Charles Town, W.Va. Fair admission is $5 for ages 16 and older; $3, ages 6 to 15; free for ages 5 and younger.
