New committee members approved



New members were approved Tuesday for two committees serving Washington County Public Schools.

The Board of Education voted 7-0 on the appointments.

Edward Jenkins was appointed to the facilities and enrollment advisory committee and will represent the South Hagerstown High School area, Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Education Donna Hanlin said.

Hanlin said that four people were appointed to the family life advisory committee: Michele Singletary, Claudia Martin, Robert Smith and Bridgitte Grewe, who is a South Hagerstown High School student.




Gift approved for Conococheague



Conococheague Elementary School will receive $3,279.55 from the Leonard P. Snyder Trust Fund.

The Washington County Board of Education voted unanimously Tuesday to approve the gift.

Officials said the funds will be used to purchase supplemental and enrichment educational materials.
