Herald-Mail team wins WACO media title

The Herald-Mail's Steve Finelli and Ric Dugan captured their fifth WACO media title, shooting a 73 to win by five shots at Beaver Creek Country Club.

Six Beaver Creek golfers earned spots for Thursday's WACO Shootout. Jim Sklencar, Paul Babineau, Chris Hafner, Chris Mullen, Pete Wesp and Brian Crabtree will be among the 20-man field.

Fouche fourth in W.Va.

PHILIPPI, W.Va. -- Brian Fouche of Hagerstown placed fourth overall at the recent Tour of West Virginia, completing the two-day, three-stage race in 4 hours, 56 minutes, 56 seconds.

He placed fifth in the time trial, sixth in the criterium and second in the road race, finishing roughly 7 minutes behind overall champion Rick Norton.

PONY League Fall Ball

Hagerstown PONY League will be holding fall ball registration on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Funkhouser Park. A player must have his birth certificate to register. Cost is $40.
