Hagerstown man faces assault charges after early-morning incident Tuesday

August 05, 2008

Hagerstown police charged a Hagerstown man with first-degree assault and other crimes following an incident early Tuesday.

Police alleged that Jamar Hebron, 24, of 336 Mitchell Ave., Apt. 3, pointed an assault rifle at a woman's head and threatened a shoot-out with police.

Officers responded to 427 Mitchell Ave. Tuesday morning just after midnight. A woman there told police she had been in a fight with Hebron at their home at 336 Mitchell Ave.

During the fight, Hebron pointed the loaded rifle at her head, officers said they were told by the woman. Hebron allowed her to leave the home, but told her not to go to police, officers alleged.
