Peach festival

The Leitersburg Ruritan Club will hold its 29th annual Leitersburg Peach Festival Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, from noon to 5 p.m. at the Leitersburg Ruritan Community Park in Leitersburg. 

The festival will held behind the Leitersburg Fire Hall. 

The festival will include fresh peaches, peach pies, peach ice cream, sausage, ham and Barbecue beef sandwiches, fresh-cut french fies and funnel cakes.

There will also be 60-plus craft stands, petting zoo, antique tractors, quilt raffle, children's barrel train, peach pie contest and pony rides.

Admission and parking will be free. 

Proceeds will be used for community projects.

Pen Mar Park

Fancy Brass is the featured band this Sunday at Pen Mar Park as the summer concert series continues.  This four-piece group from West Lawn, Pa., has become a regular at the park. 

The band will play from 2 to 5 p.m.

Class of 1949

SMS Class of 1949 will hold its 59th reunion this year at the Parlor House in the Potomac Shopping Center in Waynesboro, Pa., on Aug. 16.  Dinner will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. 

The class will have a private room but will order from the regular menu.
