Chambersburg man waives hearing in child porn case

August 05, 2008

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- A Chambersburg man charged in an Internet child porn sting waived his preliminary hearing Tuesday in Franklin County Central Court.

Charles Dean Pensinger, 32, of 705 Cumberland Ave., was charged by the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General in July with unlawful contact with a minor and illegal use of a communications facility, according to the criminal complaint.

The charges stem from an incident in February when a special agent with the attorney general's Child Predator Unit went online in a chat room posing as a 14-year-old girl, according to the affidavit of probable cause. Someone using the online name "bigdaddyohhhh" sent a greeting to the agent.

The agent responded by requesting his "asl," standing for age, sex, location, the affidavit stated. After receiving a response of "25 m Pa," the agent sent a response of "14 f Pa," police said.

The affidavit stated that "bigdaddyohhhh" requested photos and the agent sent two "age appropriate images."

After that, the man sent Webcam video of himself to the agent. The man was naked during the 26-minute video, police said.

Following the two-hour chat room session, authorities were able to trace it to an e-mail address used by Pensinger, the affidavit stated. His home was searched last month, police said.

Pensinger is scheduled for mandatory arraignment on Sept. 24, according to court records.
