Middletown student competes in skills contest

FREDERICK, Md. - Hannah Brown, a senior this fall at Middletown (Md.) High School, recently competed in the SkillsUSA competition in Kansas City, Mo.

Hannah placed first in the state in the Nursing Assisting competition, representing the Frederick County Career & Technology Center. She then went to the national competition in Kansas City, where she placed sixth in the Nursing Assisting competition.

In addition to being an honors student at Middletown High School, Hannah attends the Frederick County Career & Technology Center, where she has completed the Professional Health Careers program, the Fundamentals of Nursing program, and has been accepted into the Biomedical Technologies program for this coming school year.

Hannah, the daughter of Barry and Ellen Brown of Sabillasville, Md., is a member of the National Vocational-Technical Honor Society. She works part time at Homewood in Frederick.
