Fulton County Medical Center holds 'Evening Around the Campfire'

August 03, 2008

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - The Happy Days Committee at Fulton County Medical Center is committed to bringing happiness to residents of Long Term Care. Members of the committee brainstorm to develop different activities that the residents might enjoy that is not a normal daily activity or event of LTC. The committee organized an "Evening Around the Campfire" with s'mores and music.

Residents enjoyed hot dogs, baked beans and potato chips prior to attending the campfire. Country and gospel music was performed by Wendy Mumma, Allison Fraker (Fulton County Medical Center employees), Brad Fraker, Jan Fraker and Dale Souders.

Event organizer and LTC social worker Lorraine Copenhaver stated "The summer evening was perfect for a campfire. Thirty-five residents participated in the event. I saw many smiles and heard many voices singing with the musicians. Many residents chose to attend the entire activity. They did not want to leave until the music ended."
